One clear journey from entry to UK final
Guiding competitors, colleges, employers and judges through every stage, with each year’s winners on show.
skillelectric.org.ukA clear path from entry to the UK final
SkillELECTRIC asks a lot of an apprentice. Competitors register, complete a timed entry task on an app, compete at a national qualifying heat and, if they score highly enough, go through to the UK final. Those who stand out can go on to represent their country at EuroSkills and WorldSkills.
The website lays that journey out step by step, with key dates, guidance videos and plain answers to the questions competitors ask, so everyone knows what comes next and when.
Help for everyone behind a competitor
Apprentices rarely enter alone. Their college or training provider and their employer need to know why taking part is worthwhile and what’s expected of them, so the site gives each group its own guidance:
- Training providers get a guide to supporting candidates and an activity for choosing their best entrants
- Employers see how the competition sharpens skills ahead of end-point assessment
- Competitors find the entry criteria, core skills and registration steps
- Everyone can check the schedule of national heats at colleges across the UK
Winners and judges on show
Recognition is a big part of why apprentices enter. Results from each UK final, and from the qualifying heats, are kept on the site with medal winners, photos and the college and employer behind each finalist, building a record of the industry’s best young talent year after year.
Judges have their own profiles too, describing their careers and what they enjoy about judging, which shows competitors and employers the experience behind the marks.
Competition paperwork handled online
Running a national competition means collecting consent and confirmations from young people across the UK on tight deadlines. We built simple online forms for that paperwork:
- Competitor declaration and consent
- Accepting a place at a national qualifying heat
- The UK final competitor declaration
Responses are kept safely for the organisers, and NET’s team can update events, venues, news and results themselves. We host the site and keep watch on its health, so it’s ready when entries open.
A competition that’s easy to follow and enter
