Snowdon Trust
Transforming grant applications and helping disabled students across the UK access higher education.
Grant funding system helps Snowdon Trust support students with physical disabilities.
Supporting students who need it most
The Snowdon Trust needed a website that would make it easy for disabled students to learn about the grants available to them and apply online. The site had to be fully accessible, reflecting the Trust’s core mission, while also giving the team a simple way to manage grant applications and content.
We designed and built an award-winning website with a grant application system at its heart — giving students a clear path from discovery to funding.
Built to be accessible by everyone
Given the Trust’s audience, accessibility was not optional — it was fundamental. The website was built to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, ensuring that visitors with physical and sensory disabilities can navigate, read, and interact with every part of the site.
From clear typography and colour contrast to keyboard navigation and screen reader support, every design decision was made with accessibility at its core.
Award-winning design with purpose
The rebranding shifted the Trust’s identity to focus on equality, skills, and potential rather than disability — a message carried through every aspect of the new website. The grant application process was simplified so that students could apply quickly and easily, and the Trust’s team could manage submissions without technical expertise.
The work won a 2017 DBA Design Effectiveness Award, recognising not just the quality of the design but the measurable impact it had on the Trust’s mission.
