Rogue Trainers
An industry campaign site protecting prospective electricians from unqualified training providers.
roguetrainers.co.ukProtecting people from bad training
The electrical industry had a growing problem: unqualified training providers were selling expensive courses that promised the world but left people with unrecognised qualifications and no real path into the profession. People were spending thousands on courses that the industry didn’t accept.
TESP needed a campaign site that could reach people at the critical decision point — when they’re researching how to become an electrician — and give them the information to tell the difference between legitimate and illegitimate training providers.
Spotting the red flags
We designed the site around practical, accessible guidance. The core content helps visitors evaluate training providers, identify warning signs of unqualified courses, choose the right qualifications, and understand what the industry actually requires of a qualified electrician.
The advice sections cover everything from evaluating training packages and domestic installer courses to understanding the difference between recognised and unrecognised qualifications — all written in plain language for people who are new to the industry.
Real stories, real impact
The most powerful element of the campaign is the personal testimonies from people who were caught out by rogue training providers. We built a resources section featuring video testimonials and written accounts that bring the issue to life and give the campaign its emotional weight.
Combined with links to external support resources and the broader TESP campaign materials, the site provides a complete toolkit for anyone considering a career in the electrical trade.
